Etsy Finds: BathStyle

Etsy shop BathStyle puts luxury into spa. The shop features finely woven Turkish towels known as Peshtemal.

Made with 100 percent Turkish cotton, peshtemal use less space than a conventional towel. They are also very absorbant and dry quickly.

The towels, sometimes also known as pestamal or pestemal, are part of Turkish cultural tradition; the designs are often region-specific.

Peshtamals can be used as a sarong, scarf, throw or tablecloth. They would make a great housewarming gift.

Peppermint Tea

If you follow me on Twitter, you may notice I tweet about peppermint tea a lot. Peppermint tea is a caffeine-free infusion of dried peppermint (mentha piperita) leaves. It has been brewed since ancient times.

Mint tea can be served either hot or cold. Iced peppermint tea is amazing on a hot summer's day. The herb's cooling effect is said to help stomach digestion, reduce headaches and nausea, and aid in relaxation. It can be used in spa treatments such as facials and foot soaks as well.

My mom and I are experimenting with growing various mints this summer. We will dry the herb to make teas, soaps and essential oil.

Etsy Finds: Cotton Bathmat

A little pampering goes a long way. I work in retail, so I stand on concrete for forty hours a week. This wears on my body. This is why I have a nightly ritual--I take a bath to warm my sore muscles and soothe my mind.

This knit bathmat would be an amazing accessory to the bathroom. The simple texture is luxurious. I can imaging stepping out of the bath with the cotton cushioning my achey feet.

Tangentially, I would love to have a claw foot tub like the one featured in the photograph!
