Sweet Lavender Dreams

A few weeks ago I harvested a basketful of lavender. My mom dried it for me in her dehydrator. Now, I am picking the fragrant blossoms off of the stalk. It's slow work, but rewarding. My fingers smell of lavender and sweet dreams.

It's a peaceful meditation.

Maggie Austin Cakes

Have you seen this Maggie Austin cake? Reminiscent of a Tiffany lamp, the cake is a lovely celebration of Art Nouveau.

Murmuration

A flock of starlings is murmuration--it is also an act or instance of murmuring. Take a moment to watch Murmuration produced by Islands and Rivers for the WWF film and video competition Life. Nature. You. Make the Connection.

The bird's breathtaking flight attests to God's creation.

Oren Lavie's Her Morning Elegance Video

The dreaminess of Oren Lavie's video for Her Morning Elegance is appealing; for me, the stop motion depicts how sometimes our dreams reflect daily routines and other times our lives seem like dreams.

Etsy Finds: Starla Pins

My hair needs to be styled. It is unmanageable because I have not had time for a haircut and I am growing it out for the wedding. I usually wear it in a bun or a ponytail.

I am excited to wear an understated updo for the wedding. This is a chance to pamper myself, and I cannot wait for Matt to see me elegantly dressed.

These Starla Pins would be a dreamy addition to my accessories.

The pins may get lost under a veil, but I would take that off for the reception anyway.

Etsy Finds: Whimsical Dreams

The dreamy quality of Malaysian Yee Von Chan's illustrations appeals to my inner child. Her illustrations tell fairy tale-like stories--ethereal and full of wonder.

Yee Von maintains a blog, also named yeevon illustrations. She sells illustrated greeting cards at Whimsy Whimsical as well.
